Waste stream and composition


Aim

The focus of this session is on waste composition and its relationship to landfill design and operation.  Factors that have been shown to influence waste composition, including social, technological, and political issues are of interest.
 

Papers encouraged

Papers that discuss waste composition from different parts of the world, including both developed and developing countries are encouraged.  In addition, papers on the following topics are of particular interest:
 

  • Changes in the composition of waste to be landfilled that result from new regulations
  • Changes in waste composition that result from economic tools or other policies
  • Unique policies for waste stream control and the resulting composition
  • Waste stream analysis
  • Changes in waste composition due to pre-treatment
