Mode of
operation and outcomes
The objectives of IWWG will be pursued
mainly by means of:
- collecting, developing and disseminating
innovative information on a world-wide basis on all aspects of solid
waste management with particular emphasis on the results of Research
and Development;

promoting discussion on
Strategic Matters;

education in waste management

assuming and proposing common
position statements.

Activities description
Journal
The official journal of IWWG is Waste
Management, published by Elsevier, Amsterdam and edited by Louis
Diaz with a highly qualified team of Associated Editors. Waste
Management is the official voice of IWWG and the strategic focal
point for the activities of the group.
Conferences
IWWG promotes and co-organize some of the
most important international Conferences on waste management, such
as the Sardinia Waste Management and Landfill Symposium, the Asian Pacific Landfill Symposium
(APLAS) and the Intercontinental Landfill Research Symposium
(ICLRS).
Co-sponsorship/Co-operation
Availability of IWWG to assist in the forum,
required by the organisers, in setting the scientific programme and
selecting papers.
The IWWG is
available to organize training courses, seminars or specialized
workshops according to the wishes of the Organization and together
with public and private organizations.

members or can be the result of strategic discussion within the

present a text book on solid waste management is being developed,
this will be published in 2004,

Links to other organizations
IWWG
is in close cooperation with other leading waste associations and
conferences such as ORBIT and APLAS.
